Partners are part of the team at Gemalto

This year’s EMEA sales and partner kickoff in Lisbon, Gemalto Accelerate 2017, was a great success and unique in many ways. First and foremost, this was the first year that we invited our partners to join our sales team as we discussed the latest trends, market opportunities, and customer challenges for our teams to solve in securing the cloud, the Internet of Things, financial services and payments, and the major compliance issue, GDPR. We were also joined by IDC data security analyst Rob Westervelt who provided great insights to the drivers for data security and the opportunities for our partners across Europe.

Enhanced Gemalto Cipher Partner Program
Our vice president of global channels, Colleen McMillan, unveiled many of the new improvements to the Gemalto Cipher Partner Program, including the new portal, selling tools and support programs that will help our partners accelerate their growth with Gemalto.

Recognizing our top EMEA Partners
We also celebrated our exceptional EMEA partner network at an annual Channel Partner Awards ceremony in Lisbon last night and it is my honour to share the details of this year’s winners with you today. We saw tremendous commitment to our business from our channel partner network resulting in the further expansion of Gemalto’s reach in the identity and data protection. It was truly difficult to select the winners this year.

Gemalto EMEA Distributor of the Year Award

The “2016 EMEA Distributor of the Year” Award was presented to Exclusive Networks in the UK in recognition of their double-digit growth las year. Exclusive Networks achieved this through a solution rather than point product approach, incorporating Gemalto’s SafeNet data protection solutions into larger projects with technology partners. Additionally, by driving the solution approach and offering tailored marketing support to their existing resellers, they have been able to show solid growth from their existing base as well. The Exclusive Networks team prides itself on having excellent technical knowledge and have invested heavily to achieve “Authorised Training Centre” status as a result. Additionally, based on their performance and dedication they have won a bid to become the exclusive distributor of Gemalto’s Safenet data protection solutions in the UK and Nordics as of January 2017.

I would also like to acknowledge a few additional distributors who competed with Exclusive Networks for the title, TechAccess in the Netherlands, ADN Distribution in Germany and ABBAKAN in France have all made a considerable contribution to the success of our business in the region this year and I’d like to thank them for their tremendous support.

On to the next category – this year German reseller, NTT Security was recognized as “2016 EMEA Partner of the Year” not only for their consistent growth year over year but also for their vision and understanding of evolving market trends. NTT Security has developed from a security integrator to one of the leading security consultancies with a particular expertise in Services. Gemalto’s SafeNet data protection solutions have become an integral part of their security concepts and larger projects with technology partners such as Microsoft.  My sincerest thanks and congratulations go to the NTT Security team for their outstanding performance this year.

Once again, I would like to acknowledge NTT Security’s “competitors” in the “Partner of the Year” category this year: PointGroup and IP4Sure both in the Benelux, Data Protection Systems (DPS) in Russia, SecureLink in the Nordics, Avantec in Switzerland and Innovery in Italy. Our channel partnerships with resellers across the EMEA region play a vital role to our success, congratulations to all the nominees.

Gemalto EMEA Marketing Excellence

Lastly, I would like to congratulate our German distributor ADN who has won our “2016 EMEA Partner Marketing Excellence Award of the Year” in acknowledgement of the successful launch and excellent marketing of a “German SAS cloud”. Their consistent, integrated marketing campaign to existing service providers, independent software vendors and specialized security-as-a-service providers was instrumental in growing the number of licenses in the “German SAS cloud” three-fold resulting in significant growth in revenue.

Our nominees in this category were Exclusive Networks and Bytes in the UK and Clico in Poland. Once again, congratulations to all the nominees and of course to the winners who stood out for their creativity and dedication.

We will continue to invest in building a strong channel to support our growing customer base and enabling them to develop new solutions. With the ever-increasing number of data breaches in recent years as well as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) due to be implemented in May next year,  we have a tremendous opportunity together to help businesses protect their data and ensure they are fully compliant with the new regulations. I look forward to working with our entire channel network to take advantage of our combined knowledge and expertise in data protection to help them address this.
