As Google unveiled the Google Wallet NFC a few days ago, the search engine giant has thrown open the floor for mobile payment methods to all banking and secure transaction partners.

Most people link mobile NFC directly to payment but as you’ll see in the clip below it creates a complete infrastructure with many use cases (and probably many more we’ve not even thought of yet). We commissioned Opinion Matters to carry out research that highlights the need for consumer education on NFC – or to put it correctly: Near Field Communication, as only 32% of consumers know what NFC actually stands for, while one third of respondents worry about using a mobile wallet for security reasons.
